What Georgia actually requires

Registration: any intrastate motor carrier operating on Georgia highways must register with the commissioner and pay a fee under the GIMC program — O.C.G.A. § 40-2-140(d)(1). First-time registrants also complete a certified safety education seminar (subsection (f)). Georgia DPS Transportation Rulebook 1-365.603 says intrastate carriers register with the Department unless currently registered under UCR.

Those citations are on this listing because we actually read them. If a Georgia intrastate truck also crosses the qualifying thresholds (10,001+ lbs GVWR, 9+ passengers for hire, 16+ passengers, or placardable hazmat), Georgia expects the truck marked with its USDOT number plus the GA suffix, legible from 50 feet in daylight — that one is our USDOT number decal with "GA" added, and we'll lay it out that way if you tell us Georgia intrastate on the proof.

A note on letter size

Georgia does not publish a specific letter height for this marking — the standard is legibility at 50 feet. Most sellers will quote a "2 inch federal rule" at you; there isn't one. 49 CFR 390.21(c) asks for sharp contrast and 50-foot legibility, and 2 inch letters are the industry default that comfortably clears it. That's what the smallest option here is.

What you get

Two decals, one for each side of the power unit. Any color. Send your number exactly as Georgia issued it and we lay it out.

How it works

  1. Add to cart and type your details in the text box above the Add-to-cart button.
  2. We email you a proof, laid out to scale (send a photo of your door and we lay it on that), usually same day.
  3. You approve it. Then we cut. Nothing gets cut before you say yes.

Free digital proof (usually same business day). Free U.S. shipping. Ships 1–2 business days after proof approval from Las Vegas, NV. Orders of 30+ sets with multi-color logos ship in 3–5 business days.
