The spec we cut to
Marking: CPCN 1234 Letter size: 2 inch minimum letters Authority: NAC 706.170 (Nevada Transportation Authority)
That citation is on this listing because we actually read it. Most sellers in this category quote a generic 2 inch federal rule at you regardless of what state you are in. Nevada has its own number and its own spec, and that is what you are buying here.
Read this first
We are based in Las Vegas, so this is our home state. If you are local we can install it for you as well as cut it.
What you get
Two decals, one for each side of the power unit, in the state's required size. Any color. Send your number exactly as the state issued it and we will lay it out.
A note on the 2 inch rule
Most sellers tell you 2 inch letters are federally required. They are not. 49 CFR 390.21(c) only requires markings on both sides that contrast sharply with the background and are legible from 50 feet in daylight. The 2 inch figure comes from individual state rules and industry habit. We size to whichever standard applies to you and tell you which one it is.
How it works
- Add to cart and type your details in the text box above the Add-to-cart button.
- We email you a proof, laid out to scale on a mock-up of your surface (send a photo of your door, window or truck and we lay it on that), usually same day.
- You approve it. Then we cut. Nothing gets cut before you say yes.
Installs in minutes
Every decal ships pre-masked on transfer tape as one piece. Clean the surface, tape it in place, peel, squeegee, pull the tape off. Written instructions in every order.
Free digital proof (usually same business day). Free U.S. shipping. Ships 1–2 business days after proof approval from Las Vegas, NV. Orders of 30+ sets with multi-color logos ship in 3–5 business days.

Nevada truck marking rules, verified against state law
The number on this listing is one marking; these are the state rules we have verified for trucks based in Nevada, so you can see what else the door needs.
✓ Checked against Nevada statutes and regulations · last verified 2026-07-23
- Nevada law (NRS 482.2912): trucks that never leave Nevada still need a USDOT number displayed once they exceed 26,000 lbs — GVWR, combined rating, OR actual loaded weight, whichever is greater. The Nevada DMV will refuse to register or renew the vehicle without it (NRS 482.230, 482.2918). Exception: farm vehicles and covered farm vehicles are exempt (NRS 482.2912(4)).
- Nevada-registered vehicles hauling hazardous material need a displayed USDOT number regardless of weight (NRS 482.2912(2)). Our rule triggers on placard-level hazmat; NV's definition of hazardous material may reach non-placardable loads too — if you haul any hazmat, confirm with the NV DMV Motor Carrier Division.
How it reads on the door: USDOT 1234567 — your real number goes in, we show it on the proof before anything is cut.
The Nevada display spec we cut to
- Letter height: state law sets no fixed height; the standard is legible from 50 feet in daylight, so we never cut this number under 2 inches.
- Color: sharp contrast with the panel behind it, the same standard as a USDOT number.
- Placement: both sides of the power unit (cab doors are the usual spot).
Not sure this applies to your truck? Run the free 60‑second compliance check for Nevada — it builds your exact decal list, numbers filled in. Full state marking rules, including the USDOT side, are on USDOT decals for Nevada.
Who enforces it in Nevada: Nevada DMV — Motor Carrier Division · (775) 684-4711. Rules change; the agency is the authority on what is current.
