Straight answer on whether you need them
None of these are required by the federal marking rule. That rule covers your legal name and USDOT number, and nothing on this page. These get bought for three other reasons, and they are good ones: insurers ask for them after a rear-end claim, shippers and general contractors write them into site requirements, and a driver who has been cut off on a right turn once will ask for the decal himself.
Speed limited is a policy decal
If your trucks are governed, saying so on the back stops a good share of the tailgating and the phone calls. It is your fleet policy on the door, not a regulation, and you set the number.
