Standard wording
FIRE EXTINGUISHER. FIRST AID. FIRST AID STATION. AED INSIDE. EMERGENCY SHUT OFF. EYE WASH STATION. EMERGENCY EXIT. Each one can carry an arrow pointing down, left or right to the cabinet.
Green, not red
Safety equipment is marked in green. Red headers belong to hazards. Fire equipment itself is the one place red is correct, which is why the extinguisher marker is the odd one out. We cut whichever you ask for, but if you are not sure, take the standard colours.
Put it high
An extinguisher marker at eye level disappears behind a pallet stack. The point of the marker is that somebody can find the extinguisher from the far end of the aisle, so mount it above the equipment, not on it.
Straight answer on code
Fire codes generally require extinguisher locations to be conspicuously marked when the extinguisher is not obvious. What counts as conspicuous is your local fire marshal's call, not ours. A large vinyl marker satisfies most of them and costs a tenth of a rigid sign. If yours has already told you what he wants, send us the wording and size and we will cut that.
