Your Pa.P.U.C. certificate number for PUC-certificated common carriers, cut to the 2 inch spec in 52 Pa. Code 29.71.

Who this is for

Common carriers running under a Pennsylvania PUC certificate of public convenience — for-hire movers, passenger carriers, taxis and similar certificated service. 52 Pa. Code 29.71 has you show the carrier name or registered insignia and the certificate number, written Pa.P.U.C. No. A-, on each side of each vehicle. It does not apply to private carriers hauling their own goods, and it is separate from the safety marking below.

The spec we cut to

Marking: Pa.P.U.C. No. A-12345 Letter size: at least 2 inches high and 1/2 inch wide Authority: 52 Pa. Code 29.71 (Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission)

That citation is on this listing because we actually read it. Most sellers in this category quote a generic 2 inch federal rule at you regardless of what state you are in. Pennsylvania has its own number and its own spec, and that is what you are buying here.

Your USDOT marking is a separate requirement

Any truck that stays inside Pennsylvania still needs the federal-style safety marking — legal name plus USDOT number, both sides — once it reaches 17,001 lbs by rating or actual weight, single or combination (67 Pa. Code 231.7 and 231.8), and at lower weights for passenger and hazmat operations. That is the Pennsylvania USDOT decal, not this listing; most certificated carriers need both.

Read this first

Your PUC number goes on with the A prefix exactly as the Commission issued it. Paste it straight from your certificate.

What you get

Two decals, one for each side of the power unit, in the state's required size. Any color. Send your number exactly as the state issued it and we will lay it out.

A note on the 2 inch rule

Most sellers tell you 2 inch letters are federally required. They are not. 49 CFR 390.21(c) only requires markings on both sides that contrast sharply with the background and are legible from 50 feet in daylight. The 2 inch figure comes from individual state rules and industry habit. We size to whichever standard applies to you and tell you which one it is.

How it works

  1. Add to cart and type your details in the text box above the Add-to-cart button.
  2. We email you a proof, laid out to scale on a mock-up of your surface (send a photo of your door, window or truck and we lay it on that), usually same day.
  3. You approve it. Then we cut. Nothing gets cut before you say yes.

Installs in minutes

Every decal ships pre-masked on transfer tape as one piece. Clean the surface, tape it in place, peel, squeegee, pull the tape off. Written instructions in every order.

Free digital proof (usually same business day). Free U.S. shipping. Ships 1–2 business days after proof approval from Las Vegas, NV. Orders of 30+ sets with multi-color logos ship in 3–5 business days.
